Google has officially released their asynchronous tracking tag, and are encouraging webmasters to upgrade their sites to use it.

Google has officially released their asynchronous tracking tag, and are encouraging webmasters to upgrade their sites to use it. The new tag operates “off to the side” of the regular calls to your server for your web page and does not weigh down your sites load speeds. Since Google recently said they are looking at site load speed as a ranking factor, this new tag could be a blessing to some sites.

According to Google, the new tag “takes advantage of browser support for asynchronous JavaScript to enhance the speed in which the tracking code is loaded”.

Using the new tag also enables you to “place the Analytics snippet higher in the page without delaying subsequent content from rendering”. In other words, you will speed up your site as your page no longer has to wait for Google to access your analytics. Pretty Sweet!

Here are a few more links for you to get you started moving to the new tag.

MARCH 31, 2010 – Search Engine Academy, provider of search engine optimization (SEO) training at locations across the United States, Canada, Asia and Australia, today announced it is gearing up for its fifth anniversary following last year’s strong growth. In 2009, Search Engine Academy held over 40 workshops around the globe and opened new Academies in Phoenix, Arizona; Washington, DC; and Queensland, Australia. To date, 60 SEO Training Workshops are already planned for the first half of 2010 to meet the growing demand for SEO education.

Founded by search engine optimization pioneers and leading industry educators Robin Nobles and John Alexander, Search Engine Academy offers intense, personalized, one-on-one SEO training and consultation to small groups of students via 2-day, 3-day and 5-day workshops. Each of the Academy’s 15 branches is led by a nationally recognized SEO professional with real-world experience and a dedication to educating students on how to successfully optimize a web page.

“Search Engine Academy focuses on teaching how to move beyond SEO ‘tips, tricks and best practices’ and empowers students to create successful SEO strategies with accuracy and exactness based upon mathematical methods of optimization. Students gain a true understanding of how search engines work and what makes a web page relevant,” said John Alexander, Search Engine Academy co-founder and director. “Armed with this knowledge, students are able to achieve their SEO goals in the least amount of time while knowing exactly what works and why.”

One key differentiator for Search Engine Academy is the small size of its classes, which are limited to 20 students and filled on a first come, first serve basis. This ensures instructors are able to give each student individual attention and the support needed to help them achieve their own unique goals. Instructors perform individualized web site audits for each student and give them daily progress evaluations. In addition, students have the opportunity to earn certification that is recognized and approved by the US educational system for Continuing Education Units. Following the 3-day and 5-day workshops, students continue to benefit from Search Engine Academy’s six-month SEO focused mentoring program and its online resource center.

Gail Wright, a Search Engine Academy graduate and webmaster for a publicly traded company noted, “To keep my SEO skills up to date, I have attended several Search Engine Academy workshops including the ultra-advanced SEO training. I learn so many new concepts in every class; each one is different and gives me the skills I need to be successful in the ever-changing world of search engine optimization and web marketing.”

“Once people equip themselves with the latest SEO skills, they have multiple career options. Search Engine Academy workshops are available throughout the US, Canada, Asia and Australia. This makes getting educated as well as staying up to date on the latest methodologies easy for students everywhere,” said Robin Nobles, co-founder of Search Engine Academy.

About Search Engine Academy (SEA)

Search engine optimization pioneers Robin Nobles and John Alexander have set the industry standard for SEO education with first-to-market online training and on-location workshops. In 2005, they brought together some of the industry’s leading SEO professionals to launch Search Engine Academy and deliver individualized, hands-on SEO workshops in business communities throughout the world.

Search Engine Academy was the first to offer certification for SEO training and today is one of the few organizations to offer certification that is recognized and approved by the US educational system for Continuing Education Units.

Guess what folks.. Google has entered the browser business with what they call “a fresh take on the browser”. Its name is Google Chrome and you can download it here.

Basically, Google decided to design a new kind of browser from the ground up using only the best features and tools you want.

As stated in a release on Google’s Blog, posted by Sundar Pichai, VP Product Management, and Linus Upson, Engineering Director,

“To most people, it isn’t the browser that matters. It’s only a tool to run the important stuff — the pages, sites and applications that make up the web. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go.”

That sounds like my kinda browser! It actually reminded me of my days at General Re Financial Products when we were using Lotus Notes as our pseudo-desktop for email, work-flow apps, and more.

Based on what I’m reading, Google is positioning Chrome as a new kind of online operating system where potentially you’ll only need a dumb terminal to connect to the web and have everything you need at you disposal once connected.

The official launch of Chrome is not until tomorrow. Apparently, the only reason for the announcement is someone unintentionally

“hit ’send’ a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome.”.

Chrome is a totally open source browser that uses multiple process in an effort to keep memory under control and keep the whole browser running nice an smooth. It even has a “task-manager” type tool to see which website is hogging the most memory.

IN typical Google fashion, they are using a comic book to explain what they’ve come up with. You can check that out here! At one point while reading through the comic the word WOW came out of my mouth. This sounds like a very interesting development from Google.

As for me, I’ve just finish the download and I’m about to install it. I’ll let you know what I think about Chrome soon.

The gauntlet has been thrown! Does that spell doom for for IE, Firefox and others?

Why don’t you let me know what you think!

“In this era of ever-changing search engine dynamics, the detailed, up-to-the-minute information that the Tampa SEO Training Academy offers is absolutely indispensable!”
– Michael Malizola

Thanks Mike… so glad you enjoyed it.

Here’s another.

Hey, Steve,

I don’t know if you remember me or not – I took your class at the end of March – beginning of April 2007. I was working for abccompany.com at that time, and they just wouldn’t listen to my recommendations, so I left.

Best thing I ever did.

Anyway, I thought you might like to see this – I applied what I learned in your class, and after living in Cincinnati for 3-1/2 months, I am #1 out of 10,100,000 on
Yahoo for “UI SEO“: and #1 of 563,000 on Google for “UI SEO“:

It translated into $30K more a year for me.

So, Thanks Steve!

Boy Don, I wish I’d gotten as good a return on investment on all the classes I’ve taken over the years as you appear to have received in mine. Congratulations on your success now in and the future. Keep up the great work!!!

Finally, here’s another one from Alvaro,

“When I came in I knew only keyword metatag. Now I have tons of information to help the company an also tons of ideas to tackle. Thanks Steve, superior training! Great material. Light bulbs galore.
– Alvero J.

It’s so nice to know that our SEO Training workshops

Professional SEO training will open exciting new doors for you too, but don’t just take our word for it, read what our students have to say!

Talk to you soon.
