Customer Review Strategies and Tools

When it comes to local search engine optimization, having a review strategy is an absolute must!  Reviews are very important to your standing online, as well as the conversion of people searching for your business.  People are more likely to book your service or visit your location if you have good reviews.  Here are some of the best review strategies and tools for building reviews online.

Encourage Good Reviews with These Review Strategies and Tools

Review strategy doesn’t refer to creating your own reviews.  Instead, it focuses on creating a service and following up to promote and attract more reviews.  There are many different ways you can do this.

Focusing On Your Current Reviews

One surefire way to encourage engagement on your reviews is to pay attention to the ones you already have.  People will be reading your reviews- and how you respond to them.  Make sure you keep an eye on your reviews and respond promptly and appropriately.

Keep Up Your Profile

You will want to create and maintain profiles on major review sites.  Your Google My Business profile, Yelp profile, and Facebook profile are examples of this.  The easier it is for people to find you, the more likely they are to review your business after looking you up.

Encourage Reviews

You don’t want to offer services in exchange for reviews, but there is no trouble with simply asking for a review.  If a customer says you did a great job, ask them to write a review!  *Pro Tip:  You can even carry business cards with instructions to your preferred review platform.  Give these cards to individuals you’ve worked with immediately after the job, especially if you had a great working experience together.

You want to make it as easy as possible for people to write rave reviews about your business!  These tools help you do just that.

Reputation Builder

Think of this as a director and filter for your reputation.  This tool has a widget you can embed into your website that encourages reviews.  You can also add a customer, and reputation builder will ask how they enjoyed their experience. Positive feedback scores will be pushed directly to your pre-selected platforms, giving you a great review!  Negative or neutral scores will redirect you to a private feedback form so that you and the customer can discuss your experience and hopefully resolve the issue before the review.

Get Five Stars

Get Five Stars has a similar but more involved process for getting reviews.  Like Reputation Builder, it all starts with a “rating” email.  The testimonials are recorded, and you even have a testimonial widget to display a testimonial feed on your site.  If you are rated above a pre-selected “positive” rating, that customer will be encouraged to leave a review on one of your third-party sites!  With this tool, you’ll also be able to consistently monitor your online reviews.
