The Basics of Google Local Service Ads

When it comes to local search, online marketing is at its peak.  This is because more and more users are using smartphones to find the businesses they want and the businesses that are nearby.  This is why local search is the new focus for Google ads.

Local Services Ads Are the New Hot Item for Google

Google knows that local map listings are creating huge success when it comes to online marketing, especially for localized businesses. This is why they’ve recently expanded their Local Services ads to include more cities over a condensed period of time.  Over the last two years, Google has added a number of additional cities to this service.

What Are Local Services?

Local Services provide you the option to advertise your business on Google and receive leads directly from people looking for the service you provide. Local Services ads appear at the top of Google Search results. 

For instance, if you were to search for “tampa electrician”, you will see the local services ads targeting that area first.  Below, there will be a place where you can click “More electricians in Tampa”, which will take you to the full list.  You will also see a drop-down menu of relevant services next to a zip code search box. 

With these boxed local services ads, you’ll be able to receive messages and phone calls directly from the potential customer through the ad. 

The App

Since Local Services ads are all about the evolvement of mobile technology use, it makes sense that the back end is full operable from an app.  The app will allow you to communicate with potential customers as well as get data about the ad and how it has impacted your audience.

You’ll be able to use the app to track insights and see how your ad is performing. 

From the Searchers Perspective

The Local Services box is shown at the top of Google Search results when people search for the services you offer in your area. From there, the searcher makes the choice.  They can select your ad and call you or send you a message by clicking on it.  When they do, you’ll be notified that they are reaching out through your app.
